Kuwait announces formation of new cabinet

KUWAIT CITY, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait formed a new cabinet on Monday, led by Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, after the former cabinet's resignation a few weeks ago.

The Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah met with Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah at Sief Palace on Monday, and the prime minister presented the new formation of the cabinet.

The emir received the formation and issued a decree of assigning the new cabinet.

On the cabinet list, Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah was appointed as First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense; Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

And Anas Khaled Al-Saleh was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs; Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf as Minister of Finance; Hind Sabeeh Barrak Al-Sabeeh as Minister of Social Affairs and Labor.

Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah had submitted the resignation of his cabinet in October after the parliament's no-confidence motion.

Kuwait has experienced frequent cabinet reshuffles. The new cabinet is the 35th in the history of Kuwait.
