VIENNA, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) concluded its 24th Ministerial Council in Vienna on Friday, with its 57 participating member states reaching a number of decisions.
In a press release, the OSCE noted that the members agreed on a wide-ranging decision to enhance co-operation in economic activities, promote good governance, and engage in efforts to improve employment prospects for women and young people.
Decisions on the prevention of human trafficking were also adopted, including to tackle all forms of child trafficking and sexual exploitation.
The members also agreed to enhance their efforts in cyber security-related matters, particularly where the misuse of information and communication technologies could result in conflict.
Efforts to lessen the threat of small arms, light weapons, and ammunition stockpiles were also agreed upon.
The countries that made or make up the previous, current, and incoming OSCE chairmanships -- Germany, Austria, Italy (2018) and Slovakia (2019) -- had also issued a joint statement highlighting concerns over a crisis of confidence within the OSCE region.
It said that some developments have led to deepened mistrust and increased tensions, as well as conflict and instability "within and between member states." It urged for cooperation to rebuild trust and "improve good neighbourly relations."
The 25th OSCE Ministerial Council will be held in Milan, Italy on Dec. 6 and 7, 2018.
