YANGON, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar invited cooperation from home and the international community to help it rebuild and resettle the conflict-torn Rakhine state in the west part of the country, Myanmar News Agency reported Friday.

Myanmar Minister of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye, who is also Deputy Chairman of the Union Enterprises for Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Development in Rakhine (UEHRD), made the stance to foreign diplomats and United Nations agencies on Thursday.

Win Myat Aye clarified plans for implementing development projects in Rakhine state in cooperation with the country's entrepreneurs, highlighting several projects including the building of infrastructure, establishing an agriculture and livestock breeding economic zone, developing the information technology and media sectors, creating job opportunities, conducting vocational training, promoting healthcare services, establishing micro-finance schemes and promoting the tourist sector.

He also stated the government's efforts for repatriation of the displaced Rohingya people following the agreement between Myanmar and Bangladesh on Nov. 23.

The government is also implementing the recommendations of the Special Advisory Commission on Rakhine state, led by former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, the minister added.

In the latest development, all displaced Rohingya people taking shelter at 31 camps in Sittway, capital of Myanmar's Rakhine state, have returned home as the situation in the state returned to normalcy.

Local authorities are allocating land to those who lost their homes in the conflicts and providing food and security to all communities in the area, the officials said.

The Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army extremists launched fresh attacks on police outposts in Rakhine state on Aug. 25, displacing residents from a number of areas in Maungtaw district.
