JAKARTA, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia will face Iceland, one of the FIFA World Cup contestants, in friendly matches in January, Indonesia's football association said here on Wednesday.

The matches are scheduled to be held on Jan. 11 and 14, said Marsal Masita, a senior official at the association.

In the first match, Masita disclosed that Indonesia will dispatch the selection squad, which has been picked up through polling.

In the second match, Indonesia will deploy the country's U-23 team trained by Luis Milla.

For the venue of the matches, Masita said it is still undecided yet, maybe in the Gelora Bung Karno sport stadium in the country's capital.

The matches are under the calendar of FIFA, and Indonesia will make them as a warmup ahead of the Asian Games, which is scheduled from Aug. 18 to Sept. 2 of next year in the country.
