KABUL, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Kabul News TV, an Afghan private TV channel, broadcast an Afghan-Chinese short documentary film on the stories of the Belt and Road Initiative on Tuesday.

The Charge d'Affaires of Chinese embassy to Afghanistan Zhang Zhixin, Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Information and Culture Sayyeda Muzhgan Mustafawi, Chief Executive Officer of Kabul News TV Ghulam Jilani Zawak and several Afghan film-makers and artists were among the audience watching the documentary on silver screen in a ceremony held Tuesday at Afghan Ministry of Information and Culture.

The short film displayed the life of an aged Pashto speaking Chinese professor, an Afghan teacher and students at the Kabul Confucius Institute, a few Afghan businessmen having businesses in China as well as staff of Pashto service broadcasting center at China Radio International.

"Producing such brief films and putting on show will definitely introduce the rich Afghan culture to Chinese people and vice-versa as well," Mustafawi said in her opening remarks at the ceremony.

The launching of the documentary came at the time when Afghanistan has been facing huge challenges on producing cinema and movie products, she said.

"It is a good initiative by Kabul News TV and the move would further improve cultural ties between Afghanistan and China," Zhang told the audience at the ceremony.

"The aim of shooting this documentary is to cement cultural and educational ties between Afghanistan and China under the Belt and Road Initiative. The two countries have lots of opportunities not only in trade and business fields but also in education and cultural and people to people contacts as well," said Zawak.
