CAIRO, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi discussed regional developments with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during a phone call on Monday, the state-run Ahram Online news website reported.

The two leaders discussed the latest developments in Syria and Libya, as well as how to reach a political solution in each of the countries, the report said.

They also discussed the Palestinian issue, with Putin expressing his appreciation for the Egyptian efforts to achieve Palestinian reconciliation, it said.

During the call, Putin also offered his condolences to his Egyptian counterpart over the terrorist attack that killed hundreds of Egyptian worshipers in North Sinai's Al-Rawda mosque on Nov. 24.

Putin asserted that his country supports Egypt's efforts in the war against terrorism.

The two leaders also discussed the bilateral ties concerning the military, commercial and transportation sectors, as well as their cooperation on building Egypt's first nuclear power plant at El-Dabaa in the Matrouh governorate.
