China, U.S. to have more party-to-party exchanges

BEIJING, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi on Sunday met with Democrat and Republican representatives from the United States, calling for long-term, steady and healthy China-U.S. ties.

The U.S. delegates are attending the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-Level Meeting in Beijing.

Yang stressed the importance of implementing the consensus reached by the leaders of two countries to deepen mutual cooperation, respect each other's core interests, and properly handle differences.

Both sides agreed to strengthen party-to-party exchanges and make good use of dialogue platforms between political parties to consolidate the political foundation of bilateral ties.
