PARIS, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Air transport "has its role to play" under the framework of the China-proposed Belt and Road (B&R) Initiative, vice president of European aeronautic giant Airbus Marc Hamy has said here.

During the first edition of the Paris Forum on "Belt and Road" held jointly by the French Institute for International and Strategic Affairs (IRIS) and the Chinese Embassy in France on Wednesday, Hamy noted that France and Airbus will directly benefit under the the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

"China is the world's largest market for Airbus, with 20 to 25 percent of our deliveries made in China and 300 aircrafts in our factory in Tianjin," Airbus official said.

Speaking about training and innovation, Hamy recalled that a training partnership already linked Chinese universities with France's school of civil aviation.

Besides, Airbus has also created recently its Chinese innovation center in Shenzhen, he added.

Aked about the regulatory harmonization between China and Europe in the air sector, the vice president of Airbus said that many bilateral agreements were already under discussion with expected positive outcomes.

"It is interesting that Europe and China are cooperating on the certification process so that it is easier for certification in China as well as in Europe, and I believe that these discussions are well progressing in the interests of both parties," Hamy said.
