Project kicked off to provide shelter for Afghan war victims' families

KABUL, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- A housing project with the financial support of Qatar for providing up to 1,000 residential apartments to the Afghan security forces victims' family was opened in Kabul on Tuesday, Presidential Palace said in a statement released here.

Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, non-resident Qatari Ambassador Sheikh Ali Bin Abdullah Al-Thani and diplomats of the country attended the ceremony to inaugurate the housing project allocated for the Afghan war victims' families.

According to the statement, President Ghani told the ceremony, "The project has been allocated for the families of the country's security and defense forces who lost their lives to defend the country."

The statement, however, didn't provide details about the cost of the project and the time stipulated to finish the work.
