JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- At least seven militants loyal to Islamic State (IS) were killed when an unmanned air vehicle targeted their hideouts in Afghanistan's eastern province of Nangarhar, a local official said Tuesday.

The attack took place Monday night when a drone strike targeted an IS hideout in Sala Kas area of Haska Mina district, leaving seven fighters dead, Nangarhar's governor spokesman Attaullah Khogiani said in a statement released here.

The Afghan government has recently increased ground and air operations on the armed oppositions, especially IS militants in the east and southern provinces of the country.
