BUDAPEST, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Calls for tender for the renovation of the Hungarian section of the Budapest-Belgrade railway will be announced on Monday, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto said on Sunday in Budapest.
The official site of the Hungarian Railways (MAV) will post calls for tender as soon as Monday. But as the tender procedure is likely to take from six months to one year, and the planning and the licensing procedures take another two, the start of the execution of the project is to be expected by the end of 2020, Szijjarto told a press conference.
The project for the modernization of the Belgrade-Budapest railway was initially agreed on in 2013 at the China-Central and Eastern European countries leaders' meeting that took place in Bucharest.
