Bullet-riddled body of trooper found in Indian-controlled Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Bullet-riddled body of a trooper was found Sunday in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.

The body was found in an orchard in Uthmulla village of Shopian district, about 45 km south of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.

"A body was found at Uthmulla this morning, which was later on identified as that of Irfan Ahmad Dar, an Indian army soldier," a senior police official posted at Shopian told Xinhua.

Witnesses said Dar's body had multiple bullet marks.

According to locals, following the recovery of body contingents of government forces rushed to the area.

Dar was posted in frontier Gurez and had returned home on vacation, locals said.
