Police say no evidence of shots fired after London tube incident

LONDON, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Police on Friday said they had not located any evidence of shots fired or casualties after they responded to a London tube incident in downtown.

"Following our call to Oxford Circus, we have been unable to find any evidence of gunfire," British Transport Police said on their official twitter account.

Police officers were responding to reports of an incident at Oxford Circus station in downtown London on Black Friday.

A statement by the Metropolitan Police said that they were called at 4:38 p.m. to "a number of reports of shots fired" on the Oxford Street and underground at the tube station.

One women sustained minor injury when leaving the station.

Oxford Circus Station reopened after being briefly closed after the incident.

The areas were crowded with shoppers as the sales seasons are ongoing.
