SINGAPORE, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) rising 0.55 percent, or 18.98 points, to close at 3,442.15.
A total of 2.57 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 911.9 million Singapore dollars (about 677.1 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 243 to 172.
The STI index closed down 0.2 percent, or 6.85 points, to close at 3,423.17 Thursday.
