Indonesian cyclist wins 6th stage Tour de Singkarak

JAKARTA, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- A cyclist from Indonesia' s KFC Cycling team got victory in the 6th lap Tour de Singkarak in West Sumatra province of western Indonesia on Thursday.

Imam Arifin set the fastest time of 3:20:29 when he entered finish in front of Pasaman head of district.

Arifin is the second Indonesian cyclist winning in the tour. Previously his fellow Jamal Hibatullah from the same team posted the first position in the 4th stage.

Arifin said that his victory is due to the right strategy imposed during the championship.

"Since the start we have tried to lead the race, despite I left about 200 meters behinds others," he was quoted by Tempo media as saying in Pasaman district.

The Tour de Singkarak race started on November 18 and is scheduled to conclude on November 26. A total of 108 cyclists from 25 nations and regions are vying in the race with a total distance of 1,097 kilometers.
