SANAA, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Yemen's Houthi group said on Tuesday the capital's Sanaa international airport is now ready to receive international flights after the airport's radio navigation system was repaired, Houthi-controlled Saba news agency reported.
"The airport technical team had repaired the system and the airport is now on service to receive international flights," Saba quoted Zakariya al-Shami, the transport minister in the Houthi-run government, as saying.
Last week, Houthi group claimed that Saudi-led coalition airstrikes destroyed the airport's air navigation system and put the facility out of service.
The coalition has forced the closure of Sanaa airport for more than a year now, but permitted United Nations aid-suppling planes.
On Nov. 6, Saudi Arabia-led military coalition forced closure of Houthi-controlled air, land and sea ports after the Nov. 4 Houthi ballistic missile attack over the Saudi capital Riyadh.
The UN relief agencies warned of mass famine and health catastrophes in Yemen's north as a consequence of the all-out blockade.
