LOS ANGELES, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Sweden furniture producer IKEA announced to recall more than a dozen million Children's and adult chests and dressers in the United States as of Tuesday.

"The recalled chests and dressers are unstable if they are not properly anchored to the wall, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in injuries or death to children," IKEA said on its official website, adding that about 17.3 million units of such dressers are on the recalling list.

It's the second time that the company recalled dressers which could lead to death accident in two years.

In June of 2016, IKEA decided to recall 29 million chests and dressers but some customers did not know the move so that more accidents occurred.

According to IKEA, it has received 299 reports of tip-over incidents involving the chests and dressers, including 144 reports of injuries to children, while there have been eight reports of child tip-over related deaths with the recalled chests and dressers since 1989.

"The initial investigation indicates that the chest involved in this incident had not been properly attached to the wall," IKEA said in a statement to ABC, urging all consumers to securely attach chests to the wall with the hardware included in every IKEA chest of drawers package.
