BELGRADE, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Prime Ministers of Serbia and Macedonia agreed on Tuesday to advance their cooperation with concrete projects backed by cooperation between the two governments, which will hold a joint session next spring.

Zoran Zaev arrived Monday on a two-day visit to Serbia and was welcomed by his Serbian counterpart Ana Brnabic in front of the Palace of Serbia, where the two prime ministers and the government delegations met.

Brnabic said at a press conference after the meeting that she talked with Zaev about "concrete projects and cooperation which need to be set up in order to sign agreements at the upcoming joint government session", the government said in a press release.

"This visit is a good signal which proves that we can solve all potential open issues between us by dialogue," Brnabic added, describing the visit as a right step towards further connection of economy and trade of two countries, and strengthening their friendship.

Zaev stressed the closeness of the Serbian and Macedonian nations and implied that the politicians are "obliged to follow the interest of our two nations to cooperate."

He also met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic with whom he discussed the development of bilateral relations, situation in the region and the European path that both countries chose.

According to the press release of the president's cabinet, Zaev told Vucic that both sides should use all their opportunities to boost bilateral trade to reach 1 billion euros, and proposed simplification of customs procedures ad border crossings in order to speed up the flux of people and goods and reduce waiting time.

He also suggested that construction companies of the two countries could participate together in other markets, and work together on infrastructure projects abroad.

The release reads that Vucic told Zaev that Serbia is open to all initiatives that contribute to peace and stability in the region, such as the infrastructure interconnection, economic cooperation and trade exchange.
