TRIPOLI, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Libya's eastern-based House of Representatives on Monday said that investigation would begin into the denied entry of a UN airplane into the eastern Tubrug's airport a day earlier.

"The House of Representatives condemns the incident of denying an airplane carrying members of the House of Representatives on Sunday from landing at the Tubrug international airport," said the parliament in a statement.

"This has disturbed the scheduled meetings of the House of Representatives this week, during which discussion will be held on initiatives and proposals to amend the political agreement," said the statement.

A parliamentary committee will be formed to probe into the incident and officials concerned will be called upon to assist in the investigation on Tuesday, the statement added.

The UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) on Monday welcomed the Parliament's decision to postpone the scheduled sessions.

"UNSMIL regrets that UN plane, transporting House of Representatives members, was denied permission to land in Tubrug and welcomes the parliament's decision to postpone the session and its intention to facilitate the arrival of members coming from Tripoli to attend its session," the Mission said.

Despite signing a UN-sponsored peace agreement by the political parties and appointment of the Government of National Accord, Libya remains politically divided amid insecurity and chaos.

The UN Mission has recently sponsored dialogue meetings in Tunisia between Libyan political parties to amend the political agreement, the first stage of an action plan proposed by the UN envoy to Libya and Head of the Mission, Ghassan Salame, in September that aims at ending the political division in the country.
