LUANDA, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Angolan senior women's basketball team 1º de Agosto claimed a victory in the African Championship of Women's Seniors on Sunday by beating Ferroviario de Maputo of Mozambique 65-51.
The games took place in the Angolan capital of Luanda from Nov. 10-19 at the Kilamba Multiusos Pavilion.
The Angolan team, which was already winning at half time by 32-28, proved to be superior in almost every chapter of the final match of the 23rd edition of the continental championship.
Other teams which took part in the event were the Angolan Interclube, KPA from Kenya, the First Bank of Nigeria, Algeria's GSP, Equity of Kenya and representatives from DPR Congo (ASB Vitoria and SB Motema).
