VALLETTA, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Malta is to be withdrawing its bid to host the European Medicines Agency, the government announced on Friday.
The government said in a statement that "following extensive discussions with the European Medicines Agency and other national competent authorities within the European Union (EU), Malta will be withdrawing its bid to host the agency".
The European Medicines Agency, currently based in London, will have to be relocated after Brexit.
Malta is one of EU member states bidding to host the agency post-Brexit.
The final vote determining which country hosts the agency will be taken later this month. Enditem
