ISLAMABAD, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- At least four most wanted terrorists have been arrested from Pakistan's eastern province of Punjab, Pakistani army's media wing said on Friday.

Pakistani army's Inter Services Public Relations said in a statement that Punjab Rangers, a paramilitary force, arrested the terrorists belonging to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ghazi Khan, a district in southern part of Punjab.

Personnel from the country's intelligence agencies also participated in the operation.

The alleged terrorists were involved in attacks and killing of police officials in the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and in Punjab, said the statement.

Automatic weapons and hand grenades were also recovered from the terrorists during the raid.

The raid was conducted as part of the ongoing military offensive, Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, launched across the country in February this year against "latent threat of terrorism."
