1st LD: IS suicide bombing kills 35 civilians in eastern Syria

DAMASCUS, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- At least 35 civilians were killed Friday in a suicide bombing carried out by Islamic State (IS) in eastern Syria, pro-government Sham FM radio reported.

The bombing targeted a checkpoint of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the area between the Conico and Jafra energy fields in the northeastern countryside of Deir al-Zour province, said the report.

It is not the first time that the IS targeted the Kurdish forces, particularly after the advance of the SDF in the battles against the extremist group in northern Syria. Enditem
