HANOI, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam is finalizing financial and training plans for six football teams to well compete in the final rounds of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) tournaments in 2018, the Vietnam Football Federation said on Friday.

This is the first time Vietnam has had up to six teams which have secured berths to the tournaments' final roads, the federation said, noting that they will compete at the coming AFC Asian Cup, AFC Women's Asian Cup, AFC U-23 Championship, AFC U-19 Championship, AFC U-16 Championship and AFC Futsal Championship.

Total funds, including wages for foreign experts, for the six teams are estimated at around 70 billion Vietnamese dong (about 3.1 million US dollars), the federation said, adding that it will contribute 40 billion Vietnamese dong (nearly 1.8 million dollars), and Vietnam's General Department of Physical Training and Sports will contribute the rest.
