BEIJING, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- The China Foundation for Disabled Persons (CFDP) has raised over 100 million yuan (15.1 million U.S. dollars) for various charity programs since 2015.
Nearly 100,000 impoverished cataract patients in 27 provincial-level regions have received subsidies for their surgeries, according to the CFDP.
Since 2016, the foundation has provided over 50 free knee and hip replacement surgeries for patients from the country's four autonomous regions of Tibet, Xinjiang, Ningxia and Guangxi.
It has also trained more than 1,400 orthopedists in China's western provinces of Gansu, Guizhou and Qinghai.
China is home to more than 85 million disabled people.
