KAMPALA, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- Uganda on Thursday named a squad of 30 players for 2017 Council of Southern African Football Association (COSAFA) U-20 Championship slated for Dec. 6-16 in Zambia.
Coach Mathias Lule said the team will start training on Nov. 27.
"We are glad that our youngsters will have the chance to feature against well established youth teams in Southern Africa," he said.
Uganda will participate in the tournament as guests.
In the draws conducted by members of COSAFA in Johannesburg last week, Uganda were placed in Group A alongside defending champions and hosts Zambia, Swaziland and Malawi.
Ahmed Hussein, the Uganda FA spokesman said the tournament in Zambia will help the U-20 team prepare ahead of the qualifiers for the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations 2019 qualifiers. Enditem
