SINGAPORE, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) dropping 0.81 percent or 27.4 points to close at 3,341.30.
A total of 1.81 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.29 billion Singapore dollars (about 953.26 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 259 to 188.
The STI index closed down 0.89 percent or 30.39 points to close at 3,368.70 on Wednesday.
