Feature: WWI's unsung Chinese heroes commemorated with statue in Belgium, 100 years later

The statue standing 3 meters was erected on Wednesday for 13 Chinese laborers who were killed in a German bombardment against the village Nov. 15, 1917. In the last two years of WWI, some 140,000 Chinese laborers were recruited mainly by Britain and France to Europe, providing logistic services to the Allied Forces, who at that time were suffering severe manpower shortage.
