TOKYO, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks extended losses Wednesday morning, as Wall Street's decline overnight coupled with the yen's rise against the U.S. dollar combined to produce a risk off mood.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 208.93 points, or 0.93 percent, from Tuesday to 22,171.08.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 24.96 points, or 1.40 percent, to 1,753.91.
Mining, oil and coal products, and nonferrous metals issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
