JAKARTA, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- More than 2,000 of young trainees in the armed forces and police force from across the world will feature military sport games in Indonesia next year, a military officer said on Tuesday.
The Conseil International du Sport Militaire (CSIM) 3rd World Cadet Games 2018 is scheduled to be held Magelang town of Central Java province from April 28 to May 6 of next year, staff of expert of military commander Major General Endang Sodik said.
Indonesian military academy in Magelang is one of the venues for the Games, the general said.
"The event will be participated by cadets from military academies in whole over the world. So far about 2,000 participants have registered and the figure may rise," he said in Magelang.
Among the sports to be played in the event are track and field, orienteering, military pentathlon, volley ball, swimming and badminton, Sodik was quoted by Antara news wire as saying.
Major of Magelang town Sigit Widyonindito said that he expects the event would promote and boost tourism and economic activities in the area.
