MOSCOW, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a message of condolences to his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani on Monday over a deadly earthquake along the Iran-Iraq border.

Putin expressed sympathy and support to the family and friends of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Russian Emergency Minister Vladimir Puchkov also sent messages of condolences to Iranian and Iraqi authorities, saying that the ministry is ready to help the two countries deal with the consequences of the natural disaster.

The magnitude-7.3 earthquake, which occurred on Sunday, has killed at least 300 people and injured 4,000 others, with most casualties in Iran.
