KIEV, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine will get 1.3 million euros (about 1.5 million U.S. dollars) from the European Union (EU) for the implementation of culture development projects, the EU delegation to Ukraine said on Monday.

The funds will be earmarked under the EU's Culture Bridges program and as part of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, the EU delegation said in a statement.

The initiative is aimed at developing the cultural sector in Ukraine and boosting cooperation between the Ukrainian and the EU cultural organizations and operators.

Under the program, the EU will fund a range of activities including cultural exchanges projects, training sessions and study visits.

The funds are set to be allocated in 100 grants within the next three years.

The comprehensive association agreement, which includes a free trade deal and a broad range of legislation and regulation topics, came into full force on Sept. 1 this year.
