KABUL -- At least eight policemen were killed following a shooting at a security checkpoint in Afghanistan's western province of Farah on Monday, local TV channel Ariana News reported.

The initial findings showed that the incident was likely caused by an insider attack as "a policeman of the checkpoint went missing after the firing and there were no signs of insurgents' activities near the targeted post," the media quoted provincial police chief Gul Bahar Mujahed as saying.
