LJUBLJANA, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- Some 3,200 Polling stations in Slovenia for the presidential run-off closed at 7 p.m. local time on Sunday, with the winner between incumbent President Borut Pahor or his challenger Kamnik Mayor Marjan Sarec to be announced around 9 p.m.

The second round of the vote was marked by a rather low turnout, which stood at 30.45 percent by 4 p.m., compared to 32.02 percent in the first round three weeks ago, according to the Slovenian Press Agency (STA).

The National Electoral Commission said that it had received 43 reports on alleged violations of electioneering blackout since the rule prohibiting any propaganda entered into force on Saturday.

The new president will take over on Dec. 23, a day after he is sworn in in parliament.
