BEIJING, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- FAW Car Co., Ltd will start recalling 13,680 vehicles in China due to problematic dashboard wire system on November 13.

It will recall Besturn X40 (MT) vehicles manufactured between Sept. 26, 2016 and Aug. 30, 2017, according to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

The recall is made due to faulty design of dashboard wire system which is prone to short-circuit in extreme circumstances, setting vehicles on fire and making cars stall while in motion.

All faulty parts will be replaced free of charge.

Global and Chinese automakers recalled 4.49 million defective vehicles in the first five months of this year, compared with 11.34 million in all of 2016.
