BRATISLAVA, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Household consumption and a revival in investments should be the main factors pulling up Slovakia's economy next year, Slovenska Sporitelna banka analyst Katarina Muchova said on Thursday.

Muchova gave the prediction based on a fresh report by the European Commission, which has predicted that Slovakia's GDP growth should accelerate from 3.3 percent year-on-year this year to 3.8 percent.

Meanwhile, the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia noted the positive role of growing employment and real salaries, as well as low interest rates.

According to F.A. Hayek Foundation analyst Tomas Puchly the main risk for the Slovak economy could possibly come from abroad.

"It looks good, if nothing happens - I mean mainly the Brexit talks," said Puchly, adding that Greece seems to have been stabilized, while the situation in the banking sector appears somewhat better than last year.

"Nonetheless, it's uncertain whether the Slovak Government will observe its commitment to reduce the state budget deficit, as it hasn't been so disciplined this year," added Puchly.
