WASHINGTON, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. military said Wednesday that three U.S. aircraft carriers will commence a three-carrier strike force exercise in the Western Pacific on Nov. 11-14.

According to a statement by U.S. seventh Fleet, the USS Ronald Reagan, USS Nimitz and USS Theodore Roosevelt strike groups will conduct coordinated operations in international waters "to demonstrate the U.S. Navy's unique capability to operate multiple carrier strike groups as a coordinated strike force effort."

"While at sea, the strike force plans to conduct air defense drills, sea surveillance, replenishments at sea, defensive air combat training, close-in coordinated maneuvers and other training," said the statement.
