Afghan president leaves for UAE visit

KABUL, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday left here for the United Arab Emirates on an official visit, the presidential palace said in a statement.

The president is scheduled to participate in the inauguration ceremony of Louvre Abu Dhabi museum, according to the statement.

The Afghan leader will also meet high-ranking officials of the UAE and discuss security issues and expansion of mutual cooperation, said the statement.

Among the officials accompanying Ghani were National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar, Chief of Staff Abdul Salaam Rahimi and Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Communication and Media Mohammad Haroon Chakhansuri.
