Indonesia's S. Sumatra hosts int'l rafting championship

JAKARTA, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- An international rafting championship started in South Sumatra province of Indonesia on Tuesday, featuring 268 athletes from 19 home and foreign teams.

The 5-day 2017 International Musi Triboatton (IMT) event uses the landmark Musi river that lining across the province, combined with cultural events, traditional attractions and food festivals.

The hosts dispatched 10 teams for the annual championship whose route takes 500 kilometers of the river line, divided in white water and flat water classes,

Also in the championships are teams from Brunei, Canada, China, France, Jordan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore.
