TRIPOLI, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- South Korean companies on Monday demanded security guarantees for their return to Libya and resuming suspended power plants projects.
South Korean companies demanded security plans as a condition for their return to Libya, mainly Hyundai, which is carrying out a number of projects in three parts of Libya, an official of the Libyan state-owned General Electricity Company, told Xinhua.
"The officials of the General Electricity Company confirmed their approval of the Korean request. The companies were scheduled to return in November," the official added, stressing the company's commitment to ensure the safety of the workers of Korean companies.
"There are only small South Korean technical teams inside Libya. They have been preparing since August for the return of the main crews of the South Korean companies after completing their technical reports and assessment of the security situation," the official added.
Four foreign workers, including three Turks and one German, have been kidnapped on Friday in the southern city of Obari while working in the city's power plant.
Following the kidnapping of the workers, all the experts and consultants of the German company Siemens left Obari on Saturday.
