KABUL, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Fourteen insurgents were killed and 15 other wounded after Afghan army launched an operation in southern province of Helmand, the defense ministry said on Monday.
The ministry said on Twitter that five vehicles and five motorcycles were also destroyed during the raid conducted in Nad Ali district, west of provincial capital Lashkar Gah city.
Helmand, notorious for poppy growing, is also a known Taliban stronghold.
