BEIRUT, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Lebanese Army's Logistics Brigade received Thursday a number of Hellfire air-to-surface missiles from the United States, according to a statement from the army.

"The army also received a number of 60mm mortars as part of the American support program," the statement added.

Last month, a ceremony was held at the Lebanese Air Force Hamat base where the Lebanese Air Force received from the United States two A-29 Super Tucano aircraft.

The U.S. ambassador to Lebanon Elizabeth Richard highlighted during the ceremony the partnership between the two armies, noting over the last decade, the U.S. government has invested over 1.5 billion U.S. dollars in training and equipment, and has trained over 32,000 Lebanese troops.
