KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's producer price index for local production rose 6 percent year-on-year in September, data from Malaysia's statistics department showed Tuesday.
The growth was lower as compared to 6.7 percent in August, said the statement.
For September, mining sector saw its price index up 30.8 percent year-on-year.
Meanwhile, manufacturing grew 4.7 percent; agriculture, forestry and fishing increased by 1.5 percent; electricity and gas supply rose 1.2 percent.
However, the index for water supply decreased by 0.4 percent.
On a monthly basis, the producer price index for local production rose 1.1 percent, driven by mining, agriculture, forestry and fishing, and manufacturing.
