China's manufacturing activity continues expanding in October

BEIJING, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- China's manufacturing sector expanded in October, adding to evidence of continued momentum in the economy, the official data said Tuesday.

The country's manufacturing purchasing managers' index came in at 51.6, moderating from 52.4 in September and 51.7 in August, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

A reading above 50 indicates expansion, while a reading below reflects contraction.
