100,000 people expected to visit crematorium for late Thai king daily

BANGKOK, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- About 100,000 people, including foreigners, are expected to visit daily a crematorium for Thailand's late King Bhumibol Adulyadej in the heart of Bangkok next month.

The Joint Directorate for the Royal Cremation Ceremony announced on Friday that an estimated 100,000 people are expected to visit daily the royal crematorium on Sanam Luang ground next to the Grand Palace daily during November 2 and November 30 from 07:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. (local time).

Each person will be allowed to spend 15 minutes to visit the elaborately decorated crematorium and 45 minutes to view an exhibition about the late king in Sanam Luang area.

Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will preside over the opening ceremony for the exhibition on November 2.

A total of 5,000 people will be allowed to visit the crematorium at a time, according to the joint directorate.

Of the 100,000 visitors expected to view the royal crematorium on daily basis, some 8,000 are expected to be foreign visitors.
