TEHRAN, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) destroyed a terrorist group in an operation in the northwestern Iran, Press TV reported on Thursday.
In the operation in the province of West Azarbaijan on Wednesday, IRGC ground forces launched the operation after receiving information that a four-member terrorist group had infiltrated the Chaldoran region of the province and had killed two locals, the report said.
The IRGC forces hunted down the terrorists and killed them in a shootout.
In the operation, the IRGC forces seized weapons, ammunition, and communication equipment from the terror group.
The report did not detail on the identity of the assailants.
