BEIJING, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- The all-in-one card for regional public transport in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province will add the Beijing subway by the end of the year, local authorities said Thursday.
By September, a total of 811,800 transport cards had been issued in the region and about 21,400 released in Beijing, according to the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport.
The single transport card was launched in December 2015 to establish an integrated public transport system in the region, aimed at building a mega-city cluster.
The one-card system across cities and different modes of transport aims to improve transport efficiency for people.
Currently, the project involves hundreds of bus lines in Beijing, Tianjin and several cities in Hebei.
