WARSAW, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Polish leaders, including President Andrzej Duda and Senate Speaker Stanislaw Karczewski, have voiced their support to Turkey's EU bid after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan paid a one-day visit to Poland on Tuesday.

Karczewski said on Wednesday that Poland supports the EU's enlargement and wants to be an ambassador of many aspiring countries, including Ukraine, Georgia and Turkey.

"We generally support the EU's expansion. We believe that the Union will be strong when its states are strong, and that it will be more powerful when it has more members," said Karczewski.

During a one-day visit to Poland on Tuesday, Turkish President Erdogan met with the Polish head of state and the speakers of the Sejm (lower house) and Senate.

President Duda also declared that Poland supported Turkey's EU bid.
