ADDIS ABABA, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Wednesday.

-- The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), being built on the Nile, will start generating hydroelectric power in the current fiscal year, said an official.
