The federation requested its President Sandor Csanyi, to start talks with new candidates to replaces Storck. The next two friendly matches of the Hungarian team in November, against Luxemburg and Costa Rica, might be played under the supervision of a temporary coach, according to the federation's President Sandor Csanyi.

"Hope, which is a condition of successes, has been lost, and without it there is no point in continuing," Csanyi told on the official website.

"In order to achieve lasting results, we must build our development on the performance of the football clubs, on the training of the children and the young, and on the international competitiveness of the teams," Csanyi underlined.

Storck was appointed as sports director in March 2015, then in July as coach of the national team. His record is 8 victories, 10 defeats and 7 draws.

The Hungarians managed to finish in the eighth finals in the European Championships last year, but after a series of defeats in the qualifiers, failed to secure their participation in the World Cup.

"I am proud that I could have worked for the football of a country having such great traditions, proud of our results in last year's European Championships," Storck said, quoted by MLSZ's official website. "We gave people joy that they have been longing for over many decades," he added.
